En vigtig del af varmeproduktionen kommer fra oms\u00e6tningen i kroppens muskler, is\u00e6r n\u00e5r musklerne bruges.<\/p><p>Den fremkomne varme transporterer med blodet rundt i kroppen og varmereguleringen sker ved justering af blodgennemstr\u00f8mningen. Hvis puls\u00e5rerne til et omr\u00e5de tr\u00e6kker sig sammen, f\u00e5r det p\u00e5g\u00e6ldende omr\u00e5de mindre varme og omvendt, hvis \u00e5rerne udvides, f\u00e5r omr\u00e5det mere varme. For at vores organer i brystkasse og bughule kan fungere, er det vigtigt at selve temperaturen her holdes konstant p\u00e5 cirka 37 grader. Er omgivelserne kolde, holdes de centrale del af kroppen varme p\u00e5 bekostning af ben og arme. Det sker ved at neds\u00e6tte blodgennemstr\u00f8mningen i ben og arme, som til geng\u00e6ld bliver koldere.<\/p><p>Centeret for temperatur regulering findes i hjernens basale dele (hypotalamus), som via nervebaner sender besked ud til puls\u00e5rerne om at de skal tr\u00e6kke sig sammen eller udvide sig. Det betyder at varmereguleringen kan v\u00e6re d\u00e5rligt fungerende. Det medf\u00f8rer at n\u00e5r puls\u00e5rerne til ben og arme skal tr\u00e6kke sig sammen, kommer det til at ske langsommere, og kroppen mister derved varme i l\u00e6ngere tid. Er man f\u00f8rst afk\u00f8let vil det tage lang tid f\u00f8r man bliver varm igen.<\/p><p>Varm p\u00e5kl\u00e6dning er selvsagt godt, og er det som mange lag, har det den fordel at man kan tage af hen ad vejen, hvis det bliver varmere. Der findes adskillige tekstiler, som er s\u00e6rligt isolerende og vindt\u00e6tte f eks fleece, Goretex og Thinsulate.
